[bug] crysis 1 demorando para salvar (realizar o savegame)
patch1.1 save/checkpoint slow and hang bug - workaround no reinstalling
i've been having the strange slow-save and the hang bug through onslaught and awakening (the mine) that people have been reporting.
here's how i got around it:
1. make a backup of your crysis/bin32 folder. i made a subfolder crysis/bin32/files-v1.1 and copied all my bin32 files there.
2. on your dvd open the file Binari~2.cab (winrar will open it fine). these are the original v1.0 versions of the files in your bin32 folder. extract these files to another folder. i use crysis/bin32/files-v1.0.
3. copy the files from files-v1.0 to your bin32 folder. this is almost like having v1.0 reinstalled.
4. start crysis and play away, or just load and save your game.
5. copy the files from files-v1.1 back to your bin32 folder. This puts you back to a proper v1.1 install.
i've set up a couple of batch files to do the copying for me in case i need it again.
with this i switch the 1.0, loaded a slow savegame in the mine area and played through to the start of the core - fantastic!, then switched back to v1.1 and kept playing with quick saves and no hangs so far.
i hope people find this useful, i was just about to give up on crysis completely, so i'm v happy.
a couple of buts...
- BUT i've only tried this on 32bit XP home, though maybe the same wold work in 64bit using the Binari~1.cab files.
- BUT i did see some bad textures so you wont want to stay in v1.0 for too long. i also saw some frogs (toads?) in the mine that probably shouldn't have been floating.
post back if it works for you.
